Yes, it does. Diffuse also has five other brightness modes for most lighting occasions.

Is OLIGHT customized rechargeable battery the only one that Diffuse can use?

No, Diffuse can work with all AA batteries, although the Turbo and Strobe modes cannot be used with AA batteries. The maximum output with AA batteries will be 200 lumens.

When does the battery indicator show red?

The power indicator will be red only for batteries with a voltage below 3V.

Does it have a pocket clip?

No, it does not have a pocket clip but it comes with a lanyard.
