Engineered for epics in all conditions, the Storm 500 is a headlamp that features a robust waterproof/dustproof housing and 500 lumens of bright light. Powered by the BD 1500 Li-ion battery, which can be charged with a micro USB, the Storm 500 R also includes a sustainably made elastic headband with Repreve recycled textiles. The compact body is ergonomic, and the updated user interface includes a secondary switch for easy mode selection. The updated optical efficiency not only provides brighter light, but also saves battery life that can be easily tracked with a six-setting, three-LED battery meter.

In addition to its primary features, the Storm 500 R boasts three different colored night vision modes and peripheral white lighting for close-range activities such as carefully re-racking for the final summit pitch in the dark. The headlamp also includes the Brightness Memory feature, which allows users to turn the light on and off at a chosen brightness without reverting back to the default, full power setting. PowerTap Technology enables quick and easy access to maximum brightness with the touch of a finger.

The headlamp offers a range of settings including full strength in proximity and distance modes, dimming, strobe, red, green, and blue night-vision, and lock mode. The Storm 500 R's PowerTap Technology allows for instant transitioning between full and dimmed power. The recycled elastic headband features comfortable next-to-skin Repreve fiber construction, making it both sustainable and comfortable to wear.
